I think that the trope name should be altered in some way to reflect it being about "Everyone is surprise-related", since that is what it seems to be about according to the description. That clarification is apparently really needed, because the examples section is full of examples of big family trees whose relation is just a fact and not presented in the narrative as a surprise revelation.
