The 'no damage to real life vehicles' idea is toyed with in Dirt Showdown, a spinoff of the Dirt franchise that's a lot more arcadey than the rest of the Dirt series. As a Codemasters game, realistic crashes are expected but real brands have their cars less damage-able than they would otherwise be. To get around this somewhat, Codies also included made-up cars that have greater damage detailing.
Removed the "Non-car Examples" section for being Trope Decay.
I moved almost all the examples from that section to other pages. Here's the one that couldn't fit:
- As a real-life example, Everyone Owns an HP at IKEA: Hewlett-Packard computers are shown as props in the photo layouts in the IKEA catalog, and plastic replicas are placed in the showroom displays in IKEA stores.
