Because that is not what the trope is about, basically. It's on the order of hundreds to ten thousand years in this trope, not billions. Plus, technically the age of the universe is not the appropriate reference for this trope - the trope's more akin to a The Law of Conservation of Detail issue where the age of the Earth is shortened to just the important bits.

Guys, do not debate the age of the Earth on this page. There are a couple threads here
that you can go to if you absolutely must do it somewhere, but this discussion page is not the place. All such debates will be removed.
I actually do not recall the Left Behind films ever addressing Evolution or Creationism or the Age of the Earth.
