Can anyone provide evidence the top image is related to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past? I can't find anything like it in the manual, nor on any other ALTTP-related material I can remember.

This image looks like it would be more at home in the first and second games.

Shifting Batman from NYC to Gotham was hilarious, since Gotham was a nickname for NYC in the 19th century. I want to add that to the example, but I'm not sure it'll fit well.

Is The Simpsons really an example? I thought it was always set in modern day America. The only thing that separates it from real life is that it's set in an unnamed fictional state but those examples usually just go in Where the Hell Is Springfield?.

Since we have a category for Multimedia franchises with Star Wars already there, and since the Pokemon Video Game entry is a near-copy of part of the Anime one, will be moving the Pokemon examples to the Star Wars folder and re titling the latter Multimedia.

Removed because the character finds it odd in universe, thus disqualifying it from the variant's definition.

  • American football is shown in the officer's club in one of the Rogue Squadron books. Corran Horn notes it as a strange sport he'd never seen before.
