I personally think that this trope should be merged with Evil Is Hammy.

You'll have a better shot of that if you take it trope repair shop.

Personally I don't think it'd be a good move. Drunk on the Dark Side deals with displays of destructive power, hamminess is variable. Evil Is Hammy doesn't have to have the villain be destructive at all. The distinction is clear and there would be mutual examples that wouldn't fit the combined trope.
