The problem with this material is that it is commentary in the guise of a trope. It dates before we understood how problematic subjective articles are and partitioned them off to YMMV tabs. Since Dream Team is primarily a non-YMMV fictional trope, this taste-driven review stuff almost certainly does not belong.

    Music And Sound Effects
  • One of the first super group in music history is generally considered to be Crosby, Stills and Nash, whose three members originally came from the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and the Hollies respectively. They were later joined by Neil Young as well on occasion.
  • Another was Cream, founded by Eric Clapton (from the Yardbirds), Jack Bruce (from Blues Incorporated), and Ginger Baker (from the Graham Bond Organization). All three groups were already well-known in the London blues scene.
  • JAM Project. Crowning Music Of Awesome incarnate.
  • The Traveling Wilburys: George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, and Tom Petty.
  • Anisama Friends. The name doesn't describe any real band, or even any one group; rather, it's the shorthand for each year's combination of musicians who perform at the Animelo Summer Live superconcerts, and collaborate on that year's theme song.
  • The Rock Bottom Remainders, a rock band featuring best-selling authors such as Dave Barry, Stephen King, Amy Tan, Maya Angelou, Matt Groening, and many others. Note that their music isn't necessarily good; in the words of Dave Barry, they play music about as well as Metallica writes novels.
  • "Porn Star Dancing" by My Darkest Days features more musical celebrities (and fanbases) than is probably safe for a touring band. Mainstream rockers are probably here for Chad Kroeger's raspy croak. Metalheads on the other hand are more interested in Zakk Wylde's crazy guitar solo. Finally, the rap fans are just waiting for Ludacris to show up. The band itself almost seems to fade into the background.
  • What do you get when you put Ben Folds, Amanda Palmer, Damian Kulash, and Neil Gaiman together in a studio for eight hours and ask them to write and record an entire album's worth of songs based on suggestions from Twitter followers? 8in8, and it's awesome.
  • On December 4, 1956, four friends got together in a studio for an impromptu jam session. Their names were Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash. It's not for nothing that the resulting recordings are known as the Million Dollar Quartet.

  • Some of the best people from Enix hired themselves out to Square to make Chrono Trigger, along with Akira Toriyama, and actually used the name "Dream Team" for themselves in the Developer's Room. Sadly, and more than a bit confusingly, nothing similar has happened since the two companies merged.
  • Team Four Star.
  • In a real life/media crossover, the "Les Miserables - The Dream Cast in Concert" recording pulls (theoretically, and in many cases widely-accepted) the best performers for each role, from Broadway, London, and Australia, for one performance.
