Could this trope be inverted if say, the narrator was actually in on the irony of the situation*, but the audience wasn't (and won't be until The Reveal of a certain set of details), which would make an early-recurring event Hilarious in Hindsight?
Edited by 69.172.221.4What if one characters states the impossibility of a secret entrance being one if it would be outright labelled as such, but still remains unable to find the entrance? What if later, when that very same secret entrance is revealed and actually IS labelled "Secret Entrance!" (with neon lights and all), this character makes no comment on the outrageous turn of events, as do the other characters, even though the contradiction is evident to the viewers? Is this comedic Dramatic Irony?
None of the main characters we follow in The Joker Blogs knows Bruce is Batman. of course without all other Batman works as a reference point the audience wouldn't either, but they still play on what the Audience knows that the characters don't, with Bruce being shot in a "Hunting accident".
