  • Played Straight: Brick can send tremors and manipulate rocks.
  • Exaggerated: Brick can travel through water in the form of mud.
  • Downplayed: Brick can only manipulate earth powers when he has rocks, sand, mud, etc. near him.
  • Justified: Brick is a monster made of rock.
  • Inverted: Brick resists earth, but doesn't control it.
    • Alternatively, he can't stand Earth. As said before in the other inversion, he doesn't control it.
  • Subverted: Brick throws a rock, but he actually picked it up.
  • Double Subverted: He then gets earth abilities
  • Deconstructed: Brick's abilities are uncontrollable, so he wears glass armor to shield himself from his own abilities.
    • Alternatively, Brick only uses Earth when Earth is needed.
  • Reconstructed: He then learns how to use earth powers.
  • Parodied: Brick uses his Earth powers for trivial purposes.
  • Averted: Brick does not control any element.
  • Lampshaded:"Please don't spoil our food with your powers. OK, Brick?"
  • Enforced: "I <3 Earth, so let's give our hero Earth powers"
  • Invoked: See Reconstructed
  • Defied: Brick tries not to learn Earth Powers
  • Discussed: "Those tremors, sand, rocks..." "I know, Brick's powers aren't my faves"
  • Conversed: "From those movies... Let's say Brick controls Earth"

Suggestion:

  • Inverted: Blow You Away (Air is considered the opposite element to earth)

Redirect, sure, but a rename isn't needed here.

Edit: Oh, it's already a redirect to Closer to Earth.

Edited by Telcontar That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

Does Ludo from Labyrinth count as a film example, since he could call rocks?

I still think this trope should be called I Feel The Earth Move. I suppose it doesn't fit the pun titles of the element tropes, but I like old songs.

Seconded. Most of the examples here are more rock-related powers anyway, so the theme doesn't make much sense to me.
