We should have a page image here. Any given Wacky Races picture with Dastardly attempting to cheat will do.

Are Real Life examples allowed for this trope? It made me think of Nixon, exposed for cheating in an election that he was going to win by a landslide anyway.

It's listed on No Real Life Examples, Please!, so no.

Waluigi actually resembles Dick Dasterdly, which why I'm surprised that to my knowledge no one on the Internet has yet done a Mario Kart sprite movie based on Wacky Races

Took out this:
- In the first season of Glee, Sue Sylvester tries to sabotage the Glee Club's performance at sectionals by leaking their setlist to their opponents. Not only did this effort prove futile, as the Club pulled through with a brand-new setlist improvised at the last second, but their performance impressed the opposing teams so greatly that they came clean about how Sue had helped them cheat. Principal Figgins is outraged, and Sue is promptly suspended.
Not an example, because Sue wasn't "stopping to cheat" in the sense that Glee club wasn't finished. Her plan was supposed to finish it, it just backfired.
The cheats Bakura used WERE effective, the good guys were simply countering them. Dark Yugi started cheating on his own to force Bakura to establish rules that prevented BOTH sides from cheating and enforcing a fair game, while the final roll WOULD have screwed the good guys if it worked, while the roll would be very unlikely to work without it. It didn't work not because the cheat backfired but because good Bakura stopped the cheat from happening in the first place. So overall, not an example.
Oh, and it's from Yu-Gi-Oh!
