I just bombed a similar trope on TLP. There were three suggested examples there I couldn't find on this page, but I can't really verify them because I'm unfamiliar with the works in question:

  • April O'Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Helen of Troy. Before she was kidnapped by Paris, she had been abducted several times already. In some versions, Menelaus has gotten tired of bringing her back all the time.
  • In the Wheel Of Time series, Rand is captured at least twice (Lord of Chaos and Winter's Heart). Though that is not as common as the examples listed above, it is quite common in comparison with the fact Rand is a strong channeler, a blademaster, a martial artist, and has tens of thousands of soldiers including a personal bodyguard of several thousand women, and by book nine even commands Aes Sedai and Asha'man.

Should we add something like "If handled poorly, such a character can easily become a Damsel Scrappy"?

In my recent editing reason, i said I was going to move a deleted misuse of Distressed Damsel concerning Kairi over to that page. Silly me, I didn't realize she was already listed there, so to avoid being redundant, I'll just let it drop.

Huh what who now?
