This makes me think of my first visit to Walt Disney World, many years ago. I'd allocated an evening to Pleasure Island, and when I entered The Adventurers' Club, they applied a wrist-ticket, with one wrist indicating "designated driver," and the other indicating "free to drink."
Given that (A) my car was on the other side of the continent, and (B) I'm a teetotaler (I intensely dislike being even slightly buzzed), my answer was "It makes no difference in my case."
