And what about when the captive menages to free him/herself simply by using her/his flexibility or the old butt through arms trick◊?
Would DarkMessiah count as this trope, due to having a lot of convenient spiked portcullises that you can kick your enemies into?
Hide / Show RepliesOnly if they were tied up before you kicked them into the spikes, and they then used the spiked to escape.
In between Not Even Human and Not Quite HumanShould we change this? There's two very distinct different types of this trope, one of which doesn't involve a sharp thing. It should either be split into two tropes, or have a name change.
Hide / Show RepliesI agree. The second type of this trope should be split into its own page. Or as a compromise, The break-hand-version should be lumped with Life-or-Limb Decision. But I think it should get its own page. The new page could be called "To Escape, Break Bone" or something like that. Anyone else have another idea of what to do?

Seems like this and Hairpin Lockpick should be mentioned in each other's "compare" sections, since they're basically the same trope with different bonds/escape tools.
