I want to say Assassins Creed is an example but I'm not too sure. The point of the game is to relive the character's ancestor's life by making sure you follow the correct steps that the ancestor went through. Failure to do so will result in a desynchronization because the character made the ancestor do something he never did, such as murder civilians, causing them to start over. I'm not sure if it really fits though.
