I see it's missing the Lampshaded example from Woody Allen's Banana's, where Allen's character (Who's become the president of a banana republic) talks with a us diplomat, and there's a translator going despite the fact their both speaking english.

I was surprised to watch an old interview with Castro and discover he speak really good English!
The majority of the "translators" mentioned on this page are actually interpreters. Translator = changes written words from one language into another Interpreter = verbally translates between two languages
I wouldn't bring this up if I didn't know TV Tropes actually strives to be correct about things. It's also the pet peeve of a lot of professional interpreters...
