Sounds like something that happens a lot in Star Trek (especially Voyager) with its Shuttle Crashes. And Blake's 7, where if anyone teleports down to a planet you can completely guarantee their teleport bracelets will be stolen.
is this the place for settings where something supernatural happens and it becomes impossible to leave by any means? There's an episode of Fringe where the team is in a town and when they try to get an injured man to a hospital they keep driving down the same road they came in only to keep ending up back in town as if the road is a giant circle.
