Not quite sure how to post this, because the video discusses an event I was in, at about 10 minutes in. [1]

Long story short, I was new to playing Dungeons and Dragons (5e for those interested) back in August 2019, and the Dungeon Master of the group had 20 years of experience. Well, I found out about the existence of the Celestial Warlock (among other subclasses and races not in the Core Rulebooks), and mentioned the idea of a Holy Priest being a Warlock. He thought the idea wouldn't work, claiming Gods and Patrons don't share. I mention the idea of a Celestial being the Patron. He said that it sounded Homebrewed (he had a rule against Homebrewed and Third-Party materials, but if one brought in an Official book or PDF, then it was a different story) and asked if I had proof it was Official. I said I was sure (although, to be honest, I didn't have the books needed). His response -

"Prove it!"

Well, gamers, support your local libraries, for it was at one I did find proof - "Xanathar's Guide to Everything". Page 54 has the Celestial Warlock.

Next session, I brought the book in, and showed the section to him. He was a good enough sport to read it. The group laughed at the idea of unicorn knights. Then, he read up on the warlock's abilities, and failed the wisdom or intelligence saving throw, and did the Thousand-Yard Stare. Player across from him was like, "I think you broke him."

It took him a minute to make the saving throws needed, and then he gave me a look that was a mix of shock, awe, and respect. He got his own copy soon afterwards.

I miss playing with that guy.
