Er, I deleted this from the main page:

  • What the Hell, Hero?: Trying to talk to Peco in your camp in III will, rather than bringing up conversation, bring up an inner monologue of Ryu's contemplations on the little guy...if you do this right after the scenario with Beyd and Zig, Ryu will wonder if Peco would end up turning into an onion ring if he got burnt. Granted, he's a kid at this point, but seriously, WTF Capcom!?

I was going to move it to Bo FIII, then I realized that it's actually not this trope. What the Hell, Hero? isn't about the hero doing something ridiculous, it's about people calling the hero out on doing something wrong.

I've created pages for Breath Of Fire IV and Dragon Quarter, could anyone more familiar with the older games please make pages for I, II, and III? I've also been moving tropes over from the main page to the corresponding pages and cutting down some of the natter and I'd appreciate any help.

I'm also wondering if I should move the various Crowning Moments to the right sections or just delete them outright and wait for the contributors who want them there to add it themselves. If there are no objections I'm going to remove them eventually.

I'd say probably best to move the Crowning Moments to the appropriate sections, but that's just my two pence.

I agree. It's not really intuitive to go to the Breath Of Fire page to find Crowning Moments for the Dragon Quarter page.

Edited by Rakuen Through fire, justice is served. A hero in shining armor is called. To punish evil forces, I have been charged.

Well, since dogemperor wants them kept around I'll move them instead of just cutting them.

Infinix mentioned the idea (in the archives) of splitting the Breath Of Fire tropelist into multiple pages. I'm not sure multiple pages are necessary, but I have been pondering setting up trope folders for the series in general as well as specific trope folders in the main entry per series and/or adaptation; putting a shout-out and Call For Suggestions here as to how to better organise things.

(And yes, I'll freely admit much of this has been my fault; I've been beefing up the entry substantially, particularly re IV and Dragon Quarter, but there are enough folks regularly contributing that stuff from II and III is also being added on a regular basis. I know there's at least some folks on dragon-tear.net who have also been actively contributing now and again here.)

Please do so if you ever have time, otherwise I'll try and do it. The current article is a nightmare to read, has tons of natter, and some of the italics and bolding for emphasis has to go. Once in a while is okay, but two words in every sentence is not. This is already in addition to people insisting on making it 'THE KAISER DRAGON' every single time.

Removing from the character sheet...

  • God Is Evil: Subverted in a particularly frightening way..Despite what he says, Deathevn is not a god. He isn't even a real demon. He is a dragon. He set up the Church of Eva in order to power himself up. So, ultimately, all the atrocities that have been committed by the games villains weren't done by a deity or a devil...They were done by one of your own people. No wonder their abilities were so feared in the third game...
  • Our Dragons Are Different: And how!

I seem to have found the source of this misconception: The original translation has this dialogue during the end cutscene (bold text added):

"He wanted to share his victory over the dragon with his friends."

I went ahead and checked not only the Fan Translation version of the scene, but also the original japanese game. And unsurprinsingly, neither of them adress Deathevan as nothing more than a "Dark/Wicked God" at the very same spot. There's no other mention at all outside of ths mistranslation backing the notion: all relevant dialogues keep on referring him first as a formless seed of evil and later as an "Evil/Dark/Wicked" Deity/God, as well as the Dragon Clan's sworn enemy.
