The Addams Family, in more than one movie I guess, has the most interesting library. Well, opening the book "Hurricane Irma" forced Fester out of his amnesia... hurricane winds and lightning inside a room are not exactly a good thing, except for this particular event.

Not exactly biting, but the books are surely "interactive" in more ways than one, so not this trope exactly, but a more appropriate one is lacking. A book describing "Sunset" in the title could give you a nice tan, so on and so forth...

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeadlyBook Deadly Book certainly qualifies for some of them, but not all.

Per TRS, this is now limited to books, and non-book examples are being moved to other tropes:

This item does not even mention books, so how is it an example of the trope?

  • In So You Want to Be a Wizard?, the protagonists end up in a pocket-universe version of Manhattan which has no human inhabitants, but where everything from cars to elevators to fire hydrants is animate, and mostly malevolent. One of the characters gets bitten by a keyhole!

The trope is not limited to books — it's about inanimate objects in general. A keyhole is a prime example.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
