Removing this because it's not correct. The oldest record of Zeus worship is from the Mycenaean Linear B texts of the 15th century BC. The Old Testament is dated to the 1st millennium BC (see The Bible and Older Than Feudalism), not the 3rd millennium BC. Also the Older Than Dirt index has been redefined and no longer includes Greek Mythology or The Bible.
- The Trope Maker is widely believed to be Zeus, head god of the Greek pantheon, who was actually known for hurling lightning bolts at people who annoyed him. Yet this trope may be Older Than They Think, as the Books of Psalms and Job are older than the first instances of Zeus worship by 1000 of years. Thought to be transferred to the Abrahamic God through popular osmosis (usually as retribution for "cussin'"), his ability to cast lightning actually appears in the Bible itself.*
