I think blob creatures as a whole are underutilized. They don't have to be gross, but there are some examples of them in media that are very interesting: No-Face from Spirited Away and Aku from Samurai Jack are among the few that are unique.

About the entry for Dark Souls under the Video Games tab, there is no "Undead Settlement" in Dark Souls 1. The Undead Settlement is in Dark Souls 3, the place that the original editor was thinking of was probably the Undead Burg.

Joseph Payne Brennan's 1950s short story "Slime" is probably one of the earliest examples of a blob monster
