Can this trope apply to entire civilizations and nations, or even planet's to give an indication that this setting is a Crapsaccharine world?

Cut for Complaining About Shows You Dont Like. Anyone care to make it more neutral?

Newspaper Comics

  • April Patterson, from For Better Or For Worse is considered the "Black Sheep" by her family because she committed the unpardonable crime of thinking for herself, questioning the appropriateness of some of her parents' past actions and statements, and not settling down and becoming a housewife. This also falls squarely into the Author Tract trope, by the way.

How about: In some truly disfunctional families, the Black Sheep is the only sane one in the family.

Put it under "Real Life".
