In Shining Force II, you better recruit both winged guys and make them extra strong. This game has terrain passing ability as a feature, and these two ignore it. You can have a battle in a swamp, on the ocean, or in a mountain, and they can outmaneuver any opposition. Screech, in particular, is extra weak when you recruit him, but he is worthy to train.

Vandal Hearts (2?) on the Play Station has the same issue, but you can buy winged armor. Of course the armor will be weaker, but hey, passable terrain.
