Can there be multiple characters who serve as the respective Big Goods of separate good factions/groups/organizations, just as there can be multiple Big Bads in the form of Big Bad Ensemble or The Big Bad Shuffle?
Edited by MarqFJA Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. Hide / Show RepliesI feel like there should be a Bigger Good trope. That'd certainly distinguish Gandalf from Eru better under the Tolkien entry.
This is without a doubt one of my favorite pages on the wiki. First of all, we have the Awesome Art that is the page image. Besides that, the first entry under "Religion" is one big Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming to me, especially the part about "The Big Everything". Heck, the premise of the trope itself is awesome and heartwarming.
Gengars are so Creepy Cute. :DDoes A Song Of Ice And Fire have a Big Good is what I want know or is the morality of the story to gray for there to be a real one? What's your thoughts?
Hide / Show RepliesOf the setting, King Baratheon probably was the Big Good initially, as he was the leader of the good forces.
Since then it's been a succession of Starks who wind up dying before too long, I'd say.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. So, what about the Big Good that is less than idealistic? When it's corrupt and manipulative and very likely opposing the Big Bad for their own purposes. Example: The Hunger Games, President Snow.
Hide / Show RepliesSuch a character would count if he or she led the faction that the heroic protagonists (not villain protagonists) were siding with, unless they somehow side with the more obviously evil faction and the series is headed for a Downer Ending.
Once again I'll suggest a picture because I don't know how to add them: the page picture for this should definitely be Optimus Prime. Coolest pic you can find.
Kersey475: Does the head of La RĂ©sistance (like Barret from Final Fantasy VII) count as a Big Good?
"Think like a man of action, act like a man of thinking, and don't be a dumbass." Hide / Show RepliesIf their resistance movement is the prime good-guy faction in the game, who most of the protagonists answer to, then I'd say yes.
What's precedent ever done for us?What about the leader of The Federation or The Republic?

What tips would you have for writing a big good character, or playing 1 in a TTRPG? What level of contributions should they have? If The role of a big good is partially that of a hope bringer, how should you use them to best justify this?
