Kent Brockman discusses this trope when addressing the American obesity epidemic. "Americans have grown up with the image of the jolly fat man. There's Dom De Luise, Alfred Hitchcock, and of course, Santa Claus. But in real life, Santa would be suffering gall stones, impotence, and diabetes."
