Am I the only one who thinks that this trope can be re-named? I know it's already been re-named before from "Why is Arnold Saving Something?", but I do believe that the current name can be improved.
The current name sounds more like a Snowclone of "Big Damn Heroes", and other tropes named "Big Damn X", and has a gratuitous curse word in it when many of the examples listed are children's works.
Why not re-name it to "Big Movie" instead? A lot of trailers for these types of films tend to advertise them as "in their first big movie!" or something similar. The promotions and blurbs also tend to use the word "big" in one way or another. Finally, it gets rid of the needless "damn" in the title, while shortening the name.

- Rebuild of Evangelion subverts this on two occasions: in 2.0, Shinji willingly endangers the world to rescue Rei, and the apocalypse is only barely averted by Kaworu. Shinji tries to right his wrongs in 3.0, only to almost set off the end of the world AGAIN thanks to Gendo lying to him.
Are they trying to put in an example for Big Damn Heroes maybe?
