Shouldn't this be an Audience Reaction? It doesn't strike me as a proper trope but rather something the audience does.

I have a question about this example:

That is All: A variant. John Hodgman writes that he was able to accomplish his goal of getting The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. back on the air, except he had nothing to do with it and the show is now called Burn Notice.
Was Hodgman kidding or is he just stupid? Brisco was a steampunk sci-fi Western involving time travel. Burn Notice is a spy thriller set in contemporary Miami with no sci-fi elements. How can anyone seriously maintain that the latter is a rip-off of the former?
