Is this an example of Ballistic Discount? In A Song Of Ice And Fire, Daeneyrs Targaryen buys an army, then proceeds to conquer the city that sold it to her with said army, and take her payment pack.

Would the incident in White Men Can't Jump, when the man grabs his gun and ski mask and attempts to rob a store to cover a bet, be considered a lampshading of this trope? Remember, he (spoiler) is recognized by the shopkeeper and ends up selling the gun to him instead of robbing him.
Note that gun stores do not generally remove firing pins from weapons. I've only seen that with some manufacturer displays that aren't attended by a staff member, with the weapon secured by some kind of cable.
Everything else is fully functional.
