I was thinking that Snow Rain from the anime Nanoha or it's other version, Blessing Wind, could fit within the page. In your opinion, do you guys think that it fits?

Could Moya Brennan's Tell Me Now from King Arthur be considered an example of this trope ? It's fairly romantic, in a rather saccharine way, but also fairly serious and contemplative.

Disney Records actually put out a CD comprised of nothing but the Award Bait Songs for every movie they put out between Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame II. See details here. These are the proper end-credits ballad versions. If someone figures out how or where to put this example, please do.

Disney seems a little overused. Just because it's a hit song in an animated movie doesn't make it this trope.

Why are there so many completely non-applicable anime examples? I can understand anime movies, but surely most anime shows, like Yu-Gi-Oh! of all things don't count, especially if the song doesn't meet any of the criteria?

Plenty of tropes are misused. It's a widespread problem on the wiki.

Also, if you are going to complain about bad examples it's usually useful to explain why they are bad.

I realize that plenty of tropes are misused, they're just usually not misused on such a grand scale. Especially nowadays, considering how much stricter this site is becoming with its rules.

Also, if reasoning is wanted for the example of YGO, I did mention it, although non-specifically; it doesn't meet the criteria. To clarify, YGO anime has never been nominated for any awards or, as far as I know, been an anime that was taken seriously in the first place. The song itself isn't set apart from any standard rock/pop song and lacks the grandness of award bait songs. Of the bullet points mentioned on the main page, the only criteria it meets are the guitar solo and...well, that's it really. Lyrics are vaguely about The Power of Friendship but too obscure to garner an emotional response.

If no one objects, I'm going to remove it, but in my opinion the entire list of anime/manga examples is in need of a major overhaul.

What about Dragonforce's "Trough The Fire And Flames"?

Article summary is very misleading. Nearly none of the criteria in the first paragraph is actually that prevalent in the examples. I couldn't find *any* animated Disney movies, for example.

They're under the Western Animation folder. And there are a bunch.

Here's a possible page quote. If anybody else thinks it fits the page you can put it in.

"The theme song is a maniacally torturous piece of Top 40 flotsam."
