I recall seeing an example in a webcomic, most likely Order Of The Stick, where it was lampshaded with something along the lines of "We're being cut to. Someone must be talking about us," but I can't find it aywhere.

There was an example of this in a Discworld book,  ^*

where Death lampshades it by mentioning it was a film technique adapted for print. Can anyone find it?
