Can we put a cap on the number of Miraculous related video examples? I love Miraculous too, but 23 Miraculous related video examples for a single trope is a little ridiculous. Maybe we could limit it to Miraculous holders who've shown up in multiple episodes, or limit it to Chat Noir, Ladybug, and Hawkmoth?

If a hero or villain has technology to replicate the appearance and abilities of an animal (like Ant Man, Doctor Octopus, the Vulture, etc.) does that count as Type 1 or Type 2?

Does this trope apply to (para)military/mercenary groups like the Metal Gear series's FOXHOUND and Beauty and Beast Unit? Both have animal codenames (the former for their elite operatives), FOXHOUND usually have a subtle motif related to their codenames' animal namesakes (and in a few cases, they have said animal namesakes as their pets/companions), and the BB Unit's cyborg exoskeletons are actually designed to resemble the member's animal namesake. Most of them are either Badass Normals wielding advanced (and often experimental) weapons/equipment and at most possessing Charles Atlas Superpower, or have derive their "superpowers" from technology, e.g. Powered Armor, Cyborg augmentation, or Nanomachines, though; only a handful possess more typical superpowers, like Psycho Mantis having Psychic Powers and Vulcan Raven being implied to possess genuine shaman magic (though he doesn't actually use it in his boss fight).

Oh, and Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater has the Cobra Unit, whose members, while not themed after snakes, do possess subtle motifs and/or powers related to other animals — The Pain is bees and hornets, The Fear is spiders (due to his abnormal flexibility and Wall Crawling) and chameleons (long surgically-forked tongue, has a stealth camo device), The End... okay, his theme is with plants, not animals. The Fury, though, has no apparent Animal Motif whatsoever, unless we take his Pyromaniac tendencies and Fire-Breathing Weapon as a cue that he's themed after dragons. The last two, The Sorrow and The Joy, have no animal themes besides the latter's snake-shaped scar (ironic, giving that The Protagonist is named Naked Snake, and she turns traitor early on and predictably has to fight against her).

hmm, does animal themed witches (like in Soul Eater) fit this one, or there's a more specific trope for them?

There's no Part 1, I just thought it was funny at the time. Hide / Show Replies

I don't see why not. Does this witch have Animal Theme Naming, an animalesque appearance, and/or animal powers?
