I'm really tempted to put spoiler marks on C.C.'s example in Code Geass, but I don't know how to without covering up a good portion of the detail. I'll come back to it later, or if anyone else wants to change it in my stead, feel free.
This needs some real-life examples; as in, there _must_ have been _some_ criminal case in the past where the defendant had amnesia to whatever they'd done, and they had to decide whether they should be punished.
