A number of examples don't seem to fit the sinister/scary feel of this trope. I've considered the night stages of Super Mario Bros. (and a number of Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2) night stages which aren't haunted) to be just that. The background scene for said examples, if anything, are serene, beautiful night scenes, and some of the actual stages aren't any creepier, or more sinister than other stages taking place during daytime (apart from game play difficulty). Would these still be a straight example of this trope? Or should we consider this as a downplayed/subverted example? Alternately, should we create another definition - a Type 2 example, of a serene, beautiful night with stars and scenery porn, which may overlap with The Sacred Darkness?
