Would one character touching another's cheek count as an Affectionate Gesture to the Head, or would that fall under a different trope?

I think it covers it. Tropes Are Not Narrow. However, if you feel there are differences in the meaning of the gesture, it could be a different trope then.

what do you think? Should we add "tucking a strand of hair back" also be included as an Affectionate Gesture to the Head?

I think that would fall under this trope, since it's not all that different from tousling someone's hair...

If cheek touches and hair tucks are included, then the Laconic description of the trope should be changed.
