I wonder if we should include an "Adapted from History" folder to list occasions where a biographical work omits key individuals in a person's life. For example, the recent Victoria series doesn't include her half-sister.

I'm not sure about the idea that Krypto the Superdog and Cat Grant were "adapted out" of Man of Steel. Obviously, every single character from sixty years of Superman comics didn't appear in a two hour movie. I'm particularly perplexed that Cat's absence is worthy of note, but Jimmy Olsen's isn't. It's not like the movie was recognisably based on a comic book story where Cat and Krypto played a significant role.
