Alright, I know this trope's brand new, but I think it's already time to bring up a point: How much of a change is necessary to consider it an Adaptation Title Change? For example, "Bambi" is listed on here. The original work is "Bambi, a Life in the Woods." That's arguably not even a name change, that's just keeping the important part and getting rid of the comma. The example given for a downplayed version of this trope is "Lillies and Rubies" becoming "Lillies." That is a clear difference. There is a difference in meaning and connotation between the two titles. I don't think "Bambi, a Life in the Woods" becoming just "Bambi" quite reaches the line. Or maybe it does. I think the important piece is to define where the line is.

Yeah, I was confused about that as well; does it really count as a name change if it’s just a name shortening?
