Norm Macdonald was a guest character on My Name Is Earl in the episode "Two Balls, Two Strikes" as "Lil Chubby", the son of "Chubby" (played by Burt Reynolds), similar to Macdonald's portrayals of Burt Reynolds on Saturday Night Live.

- Probably a Shoutout to TJ Hooker, played by trope runner-up William Shatner.
Because D.B. Cooper was a real person, and definitely not a shoutout to T.J. Hooker.
