Re cut: This is very much a trope as in a Para Text trope. It's part of the story package, which involves the whole book. Think of the author making a synopsis of their story along with the story proper.
Yes, it may benefit from examples but the cutlist is not the place to fix such an issue - or any of the other issues mentioned in the cut request.
