Recently, there has been an Edit War on this page.

To give a background on this, back in 2013 I made the Big Bad trope on this page listing Shere Khan as an example, as he is the primary antagonist of the Mowgli stories and most reoccurring villain who was ultimately responsible for Mowgli being stranded in the in the jungle and Raised by Wolves in the first place, and Mowgli’s conflict with him occurring in multiple stories in what was otherwise an episodic series.

I also made several other edits related to this during that year. For the next several years the Big Bad trope(and related edits) remained unchanged.

Then in February of 2022 a user named Thorion made an edit to it, saying Shere Khan was a downplayed example. I then made an edit to give context to the original one(back in 2013 I originally gave context, but removed it for reasons I can’t remember not long afterwards. That was before context was required for tropes, so I decided to give another one for this as it was long overdo) that removed theirs. This led to an Edit War, however it abruptly ended as Thorion stopped making edits on the subject and seemed to move on to make other unrelated edits, so it seemed like the issue was resolved.

However just recently Thorion began making edits on the subject, but this time his narrative changed completely. While his previous one was that Shere Khan was the Big Bad, but a downplayed example, his new narrative was that he shared the role with Buldeo, an antagonist who appears in two stories, one of them in which he was a secondary antagonist. For context, the first edit that made back in 2022 that I would later change to version of the original that now had context was basically “Big Bad: Shere Khan the tiger is a downplayed example, as e appears in three stories. The only other reoccurring villain, Buldeo, appears in two.” which basically implies that Shere Khan is the Big Bad(if a downplayed example) while Buldeo was just the only other reoccurring villain. During the initial edit war, he would only keep adding back Shere Khan being a downplayed example of a Big Bad with no further mention of Buldeo. So it was a bit strange to see Thorion now claiming that they shared the role two years later. This led to the most recent Edit War, which lasted longer and was more heated than the previous one due to factors I won’t go into detail here.

I am only explaining this situation because Thorion deleted their account, meaning I am no longer able to reach an agreement with them. We were unable to agree over his previous edits, let alone the new ones made in the midst of the edit war due to him deleting his account shortly afterwards.

Because of this, I am going to restore my edits, but before I do that I will leave this in the discussion in case anyone disagrees, and if people disagree then we can communicate with each other on what to do with the recent edits. This discussion will be open for three days. If no one has said anything by the deadline is reached, I will restore my edits. I will leave a mention of this in an edit reason.

Shere Khan seems to fit Token Motivational Nemesis more. Having him as a Big Bad looks to be little more than adaptations expanding his role and there is absolutely no textual evidence of him being the main antagonist. As there is no evidence, I object to the restoration to your edits as TV Tropes should be accurate with its articles rather than inaccurate.

Since the deadline has long passed and the only objection was Donner, who was confirmed to be Thorion, who themselves was confirmed to be jet556, a user who was suspended permanently back in 2015(meaning their edits on this page were made with ban evading accounts) and after getting permission to do so, I have gone ahead with reverting their edits.
