I have removed all of the spoilers from examples from the book. It came out in 1957 and according to our Handling Spoilers page they shouldn't be spoilered any more.

I have also removed all of the spoilers from the film examples except for Anna being The Mole, as it's the only thing in the movie worthy of being a spoiler.

We could split the tropes into [Book] and [Film] examples, but right now it's been so long since I've read the book I can't remember much of it. For now it might be all right to leave them merged. It's much easier to pop in the DVD to gather examples than track down my tatty old paperback, too... :o
