""Omniglot: Peter is fluent in eight languages, including his native Magyar (Hungarian), Roman (Latin, the language of the State), Gallic (French), Russian, Judaic (Hebrew), Ottoman (Turkish), Germanic, and Iberian (Spanish). He is also teaching himself Chinese. Why he's not working as a translator is anybody's guess.""

Please read the book carefully. Peter was dying of cancer, what kind of work as a translator can we talk about?

Came across this page. Too bad that most of the guy's books aren't translated to English, as it sounds really interesting.

Funny that it's by the same author as the Night Watch series though, as I was thinking that the Cold sounded like a rip-off of the Twilight/Gloom.

Yeah, it's too bad that the Seekers is not even among his most popular works, meaning that it is highly unlikely to be translated within the next decade. :(

And the Cold is not really like the Twilight at all. ^^; Mainly because it's uninhabitable and time stops there. Actually, the Cold is strongly implied to be the local version of Hell.
