Where in the books is it stated that humans have black blood? In the scene where Washen bleeds after having sex with a Phoenix, it is stated that her blood was "crimson at first but turning black in the hyper-oxygenated air".

In "Memory of Sky", it's stated that Diamond's blood is indistinguishable under a microscope from that of a tree-walker. Diamond seems to be the same sort of "human" as the humans in the other novels. I'm hoping this isn't an error.
