Malwa is supposed to be the greatest threat to all mankind? It's chief idea of war is to flood it's enemies with Slave Mooks(which in the 6th century would have all starved or died of plague). It's only troops which were both reliable and skillful(the ye-tai)were used primarily as taskmasters, and the Rajputs and Kushans both tended to regard the Malwa as more their enemy then their nominal enemy. This empire is supposed to Take Over the World?

Rajput honor means that, having sworn loyalty to the Malwa emperor, they won't rebel. The Kushans don't have a leader or a focal point for rebellion, just a general sense of discontent. With the Ye-tai as security battalions, the Malwa have a sufficient population base to draw on (maybe 20-50 times that of Byzantium) that, with a modicum of logistic skill, they could conquer the Persian and Roman empires through sheer numbers, even without the weapons provided by Link.

The Malwa empire wasn't defeated through superior skill, or numbers, or technology. It was defeated by Belisarius chipping away at fault lines until the whole thing collapsed into civil war.

This is more a WMG but could Ajutasutra have been born in a slave brothel himself? His curious Pet the Dogs of Holkar's children not to mention his hatred of pimps might indicate that. Not to mention the fact that you have to start the profession of assassin somehow, and someone born like that might turn to crime for survival and then get good at it.

Are there any experts on Indian martial arts who might comment on how they were described? For instance "Assassin" often refers to someone who might be in the private guard of a ruler or teach his skills to royalty-as if it was an Indian counterpart to Ninjitsu.
