Posting a reply to this bit here instead of the actual page because I don't want to get in trouble for being "conversational": 'Also this is how Onryo actually worked in the old stories. The only difference between Kayako and a traditional Onryo is that in the old Japanese myths the ghost of a woman who was wronged by her husband would attack everyone except for her husband, while Takeo was Kayako's first victim.' Just because something is true to the text, that doesn't make it any less stupid. The original Beauty and the Beast story had Beast getting mad at Beauty's father for plucking a single, uninteresting rose from his garden, and that he'd die of loneliness if Beauty was gone for too long. There's a reason why neither of those things are in Disney's adaptation. Also, it is possible to give a Vengeful Ghost a legitimate reason for killing innocent people. Sadako killed people in an attempt to procreate using a modified smallpox virus. Freddy Krueger already saw pleasure in killing innocent children when he was alive, so using them as means of revenge against the parents that burned him makes sense. Candyman needs to kill innocent people because keeping his legend alive is how he gets his powers. I could go on and on, but you get my point, right?

Removed this bit: 'As for why; Kayako's mother had her swallow literal concentrated evil as a Sealed Evil in a Can dealie.' as it applies only to The Grudge, not Ju-On, and The Grudge has its own pages, so there's no need to confuse the issue on the pages for Ju-On.
