Here's a thought, since Azazel was a sacrificial goat onto which all the sin of Israel was cast, and Isaac's mother is both incredibly sinful according to her beliefs, and is hunting Isaac since she thinks he's corrupt; could it be that she's projecting all her guilt and sin onto Isaac, and trying to sacrifice him in an attempt to atone for her own guilt, just like the goats Azazel references? Also, Azazel is the goat that escapes, and he starts with flight. That has to count for something.
