So, about the examples removed by Team Tony... Everything that painted the Starks in a negative light and Dany in a positive one got snipped. Does anyone else smell agenda-based editing?

Hi, editor in question here. I did not remove ‘Everything that painted the Starks in a negative light and Dany in a positive one’ merely those that were factually incorrect.

Alright, let's break them down, shall we?

First one:

If [Bran] was aware of Dany's descent into madness then him letting countless innocents in King's Landing die makes him come off no better than Dany. At the very least, Dany was driven by madness while Bran was fully aware of his actions.

That's a major point of contention between fans. If Bran can see the future, or at least glimpses of it, then why didn't he say anything about the massacre of King's Landing? He gave Arya the knife that she used to save his life; he could have dropped a hint. His silence is not explained in-universe or by Word of God, which is jarring.

Second one:

There's a uniquely chilling realization when you compare the two and realize that, by the end of the series, Sansa has become exactly like Cersei. The second half of season 8 literally depends on Sansa being so obsessed with obtaining personal power that she's willing to play the "Game of Thrones" herself, even at the extent of those who care about her. In a way, Daenerys' fall was Sansa's tool for herself to rise and become the Queen in the North. And if she's willing to do the things she did to get this far... how much further will she go?

Admittedly, the last sentence could be removed. But the rest is a valid comparison. Sansa hasn't been saying "I don't really trust Dany", she's been saying "I want an independent North", much like Dany was insisting on Jon bending the knee in Season 7. Sure, Dany ends up giving Sansa reasons to mistrust her, but the initial dislike was due to Dany having coerced Jon into giving up his crown.

Honestly, Dany ended up shooting herself in the foot by pressuring Jon into relinquishing his crown.

Third one: This is an addition, where "as she intended" became "as she claimed she intended". That's largely a matter of Protagonist-Centered Morality; from her POV, Dany is breaking the wheel by conquering the entire world.

Fourth one:

One red priestess hailed her as a messiah and that was before she murdered hundreds of thousands of people. Daenerys is likely dead and staying dead.

That's a classic violation of Repair Dont Respond, not to mention speculation instead of a "oh, so that's what happened" that Fridge pages are supposed to be. 'But the whole page is like that', you're going to say; well, the whole page needs an axe, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

While there's absolutely a pro-Stark/anti-Dany bias here, I can't disagree with the snips.

The Bran entry was at best speculation, and pretty much natter. It could go.

The Sansa thing is pure fanfiction. It's not Fridge anything.

Ditto Dany being resurrected in Volantis. It's a WMG masquerading as Fridge Brilliance.

To be perfectly honest, a lot of "fridge brilliance" is more peoples' minds trying to make connections that, thanks to director commentary and interviews, we're in a fairly unique position of knowing it wasn't intentionally set up.
