One of my edits was also modified; I made this comment: "The Speech Bobblehead would have been even more to the point", but somebody added: ", if it were still in the game..." after it. I do believe my original comment is still valid.
I just had a thought on something...
"Why is it that the (at least male) Sole Survivor does not require Power Armor Training to use Power Armor, unlike some of the previous Protagonists? The (male) Sole Survivor is an old-world Combat Veteran! He may have ALREADY undergone the training needed to wear Power Armor!"
... ... ...My one issue? How the heck does the FEMALE Sole Survivor know how to use Power Armor while having been a LAWYER, NOT a Military Veteran?
Hey everyone. I was adding a bit of fridge horror for the Railroad and ran into some trouble, so I’m curious what you think about each examples now that I’ve edited them again (I’ve also sent a PM to the person who initially disagreed with my edits just waiting for a response.) As far as I know everything stated here comes from in-universe information, applies to fridge horror, and meets the criteria as well as most other faction related fridge horror stated here. I’d be happy to elaborate on anything stated below. Thanks.
The Railroad uses the fortifications under the town of Bunker Hill as a way station for synths knowing full well the dangers associated with managing these safe houses; when the Institute caught word of this they immediately dispatched Coursers and synth troopers for recollecting causing a battle within town. As a result, if the player character is not fast enough in ending the battle numerous civilians will be killed in the crossfire. The residents of Bunker Hill did not know about the secret base and had zero say if they were willing to take the major risk of harboring synths. The Railroad is willing to risk the lives of civilians.
The Railroad's initial conception by many is that of well to do freedom fighters, but as the player character gets farther into their storyline it becomes apparent that they are not above killing children, betraying allies, putting Commonwealth civilians in harm’s way, and killing Institute scientist regardless of guilt if it suites their cause. Additionally, the conflicting opinions from the newly freed synths and the grieving members of the institute who lost much of their family sets the Railroad up for Your Terrorist Are Our Freedom Fighters played directly.
The Railroad does not take into account the fragility of life in the Commonwealth, and if their goal of saving synths is in anyway hampered by the Brotherhood of Steel, Minutemen, and the Institute, which are the factions vying for the survival of humanity, they will attempt to destroy them or their leadership. Given that without factions like the Minutemen and Brotherhood of Steel there are no organizations left capable or willing to hold back the floodgates of super mutant remnants, feral ghouls, raiders, gunners, and ravenous wildlife the Commonwealth becomes a much more hostile place to live in. The Railroad's leadership does not care for the collateral damage they cause. Thus, they create a scenario in which while synths may flourish humanity may be doomed to fail.
Hide / Show RepliesExcept for them attacking the Minutemen (The Railroad does not attack the Minutemen because they don't interfere with their mission to save synths, though If this is what stopped your edit than people need to remove some of the BOS stuff) all of this is backed up ingame and is basic fridge horror stuff. I see no problem with your edit.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I should've been clearer on the Minutemen part in that the Railroad is hostile to the General of the Minutemen not the faction or people themselves (although we all know the problems the Minutemen run into without a strong leader.) Hopefully more people will chime in to give a consensus.
So, I'm rather unhappy with my edit being modified. Some of the justification does seem very legitimate, but it completely was modified to saying "The Railroad may not be as bad as people think" to "The Railroad are just as bad as people think". Suggestions?
