Not only is it not necessary, it's against the rules.

I also corrected all of the 20 or so entries that s/he had modified.
To clarify, Franchise/ pages are for Franchises with pages in at least 3 different mediums. As far as TV Tropes is concerned, the X Men Film Series is a single medium franchise, thus it says in the Film/ namespace.

Is it really worth it to switch to the new designation when the old one has been the standard? I just think it's a little excessive to have edit 1200 or so entries.
Edited by siberia82The problem is that almost EVERYTHING ELSE uses X-Men Film Series. Awesome, Characters, YMMV, etc., are all under X-Men Film Series. Even Tropes A-C and D-F on the main page point to X-Men Film Series.
Maybe Franchise was the wrong choice, so I've directed it to Film instead to be consistent with the rest of the namespaces.
Yeah, given this (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/XMenFilmSeries) page, X Men Film Series definitely seems like the right way to go, and leaving Film.X Men as a redirect.

Is it really necessary to change Film / X Men to Franchise / X Men Film Series? The former appears in 1196 articles (at the time that I wrote this). It will take a very long time to change ALL of them.
