Silver Dragon: Is Future Imperfect Simon Bolivar example right? I mean, come on, if you take it on face value, Bolivar had beaten the Spanish Armada, went to the moon, and built the Pyramids. (Other trooper adds, "You forgot marrying Cleopatra".) It all sounds to me like they're joking. They even talk about poor knowledge of history - and, I think, illustrate it with an exaggeration. Remember, Rico has a pretty good idea who Napoleon is.
Hide / Show RepliesThe 'where was his drops?' quote is an adaptation of a classic paratrooper joke circa WWII; whenever a great historical general or warrior is mentioned, the proper reply was a cynical 'Yeah? So where were his jumps?'
What's this book about? Besides a Bug War and space marines and a not so veiled commentary on citizenship. What happens?
Hide / Show RepliesThat is what it's about. The bug war, and the space marines, and the political commentary.
Were Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better in the original book? i remember Rico training with modern day rifles, not using them in combat. he also said the bugs were using a sort of microwave weapon.
