I have one nit to pick with the climax of the film. Margot ordered a cheeseburger without all the pretentious trappings of haute cuisine. Julian sneered back that he would make her a cheeseburger reminiscent of cheap fast food burgers that her parents could barely afford. But he cannot help himself. He makes the cheeseburger with such love and care that he gently places slivered onions on it. Anyone who has eaten at a fast food joint knows that burgers are most frequently served with a vertically sliced circular slab of onion. He also made it a double cheeseburger, so determined was he to make sure Margot loved it (and had an excuse to ask for it to go). Is there a trope for this?
