Can people please stop calling Annabeth a Faux Action Girl. This debate was done to death on the trope's page. The things Annabeth manages to do right in the film:
She easily has the upper hand in her fight with Percy. He doesn't win until he gets a boost from the water. Meaning when it comes down to natural skill, she was easily the better fighter
She's 'helpless' against Medusa because she's trying not to get turned to stone. She's stuck where she is because the woman she was with was holding onto her hand when she turned to stone - making it kind of hard for Annabeth to make a move. And when she gets free, she drives the car to save Percy from Medusa
She easily shoots the guards in the museum and the Lotus Casino. She also does quite well against the hydra.
She still puts up a good fight against Percy at the end.
The point is that people are mistaking Faux Action Girl for Overshadowed by Awesome. Annabeth proves her skill in the film but she doesn't get much of a CMOA - because it's Percy's film.
